Richard H. Driehaus

Richard Driehaus is the architect of Driehaus Private Equity’s investment philosophy.  Since the early 1980s, Richard has invested in privately held businesses in various geographies, stages and sectors.  As an entrepreneur and growth investor, he has collaborated with Eli since 2001 to refine and execute his private equity investment strategy. Richard founded Driehaus Private Equity in 2011 to continue executing upon the private equity investment tradition he has developed. 

From 1968 through 1973, Richard developed research ideas for the Institutional Trading department at A.G. Becker & Co. In 1973, he became Director of Research for Mullaney, Wells & Co. In 1976, he became Director of Research and a money manager for Jesup & Lamont. He founded Driehaus Securities LLC in 1979, followed by Driehaus Capital Management LLC in 1982 and Driehaus Mutual Funds in 1996.

Richard Driehaus holds a B.S.C., M.B.A. and an honorary doctorate degree from DePaul University.

Eli Boufis, CFA

As the Executive Principal of Driehaus Private Equity, LLC, Eli is responsible for executing the firm’s investment strategy and working with portfolio companies throughout their investment cycle.  He joined Driehaus Capital Management’s private equity group in 2001 and assumed responsibility for the group in 2002. Since then, he has advised Richard H. Driehaus on all aspects relating to the private equity portfolio.  He is currently a Board Member of Utility Pipeline Ltd, Iverify, Syntac Coated Products, GrowthPlay, and Focus Four.  His is a member of the Investment Committee of the Balkan Financial Services Equity Fund.

Prior to joining Driehaus Capital Management, Eli worked at Heller Financial’s International Group and Corporate Finance Group.

Eli earned his B.A. from Vanderbilt University, his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, and is a CFA charterholder.

Daniel Martinen

Daniel Martinen joined Driehaus Private Equity in 2016 as the Director of Portfolio Operations.  He is a senior operations executive with a successful record of identifying business improvements and achieving target state solutions for driving efficiency and maximizing profitable growth.

Prior to working with Driehaus, Dan was an Executive Director at JPMorgan Chase with experience in large-scale program management, process re-engineering, emerging technology implementation, and new product innovation.  His previous management consultant work was at both A.T. Kearney and Arthur Andersen.

Dan has an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Michael Palm

Michael is responsible for identifying, reviewing and executing new investments along with assisting in the oversight of the fund’s portfolio investments.  Prior to joining Driehaus Private Equity, Michael was an Associate at Beecken Petty O'Keefe & Company for three years after beginning his career in the investment banking division of CRT Capital Group. 

Michael earned a B.A. degree in Economics from Indiana University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Chandler Watlington

Chandler supports in the review and diligence of new investments and assists in the oversight of portfolio investments.  Prior to joining Driehaus Private Equity, Chandler was an Analyst at Lincoln International for two years where she gained experience in mergers and acquisitions.

Chandler earned a B.A. degree in Economics and History from Washington and Lee University.
